Outside is dangerous … inside is terrifying.

Michelle is having a really bad day. First, the long-term relationship with her boyfriend goes to pieces. While driving away from him, she is involved in a car accident which renders her unconscious. On waking up, she finds herself locked up in a bunker with a somewhat creepy guy, who tells her that the outside world has been contaminated through some sort of nuclear incident or chemical warfare attack, and that she must not leave because the air is toxic. According to him, most people on the outside are already dead, except for the few who – like them – found shelter underground.

But is it true? Over the next days and weeks, she finds evidence that there actually is something happening outside of the well-equipped bunker. But she finds just as many indications that her captor is, in fact, a psychopathic kidnapper.

How can she figure out what is real and what isn’t? Are her chances for survival really better inside the bunker? Or would it be smarter to leave anyway – even if what her captor tells her is true?

The movie comes loaded with everything a psychological thriller needs to shatter your nerves – and then kicks it up a notch. (Rolling Stone)

A sensationally effective semi-sequel that bears virtually no narrative or stylistic resemblance to its predecessor … (Variety)

Unpredictability in cinema is frequently a missing element – especially when we’re talking about movies that fall into the horror or science-fiction genres. With 10 Cloverfield Lane, there is no such problem. Trust me. (Chicago Sun Time)
